I’ve been a director of photography, cinematographer, and a fashion and commercial photographer for twenty years, though the title never quite covers it. I started in visual effects, at a time when understanding how an image is actually built, pixel by pixel, light by light, wasn’t optional: it was the job. That grounding, plus years teaching color grading on DaVinci Resolve, left me with a technical eye you don’t often find paired with an aesthetic one. I keep both, every day, on every set.

I’ve worked and studied across the US, London and Paris, and I carry a piece of each with me: American pace, English discipline, French elegance. The result is a method that doesn’t belong to one city, but speaks the language of international fashion and advertising production.

I’ve directed photography on feature films and commercials, moving between narrative sets and advertising ones without changing the way I look at a frame. On the still side, I shoot fashion editorials and campaigns the same way: building a look, a mood, a story around the clothes rather than just documenting them. I’ve worked with collections, jewelry and products with the same rigor I bring to a moving-image set. I’m not a photographer who stumbled into directing, or a colorist borrowed for a photo shoot. I’m all of it at once, because today an image, whether still or moving, is already thinking about where it’s going: campaign, editorial, social, screen.

I’m the founder of Studio Vago. Over the years it’s become less of a studio and more of a collecting point, gathering the best talents I’ve crossed paths with along the way and building something with them, project by project.
